Privacy Policy

This page explains what information MericaJobs handles and why. We try to collect as little as possible, and we update this page whenever our practices change.

The short version

• You don't need an account to use the site.
• If you use the resume matcher, your resume text is processed to match you with jobs, and part of it is sent to an AI service. We don't save your resume text.
• We keep your latest match report for up to 90 days so you can come back to it.
• We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
• We don't sell your personal information.

Browsing the site

Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to serve pages and protect against abuse.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices and browsers they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. If we add advertising in future, we will describe it here before it starts.

The resume matcher

What you provide. You upload a PDF, Word or text file, or paste text. Files are read in your browser, and the extracted text is then sent to our matching service, which runs on Cloudflare.

What happens to it.

1. Our service finds the skills in your text and compares them with the skills, seniority and requirements of live job listings, along with the work authorization and location you choose.
2. Up to the first 10,000 characters of your resume text are sent to an AI service provided by Groq. It judges how strongly each skill is backed up and writes your report. Groq handles that text under its own terms and privacy policy.
3. We return your ranked matches and report to your browser.

What we keep. We don't save your resume text. To avoid repeating the same AI work, we keep a one-way fingerprint of the text together with the AI's results for up to 30 days. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into your resume. We also keep your latest report, which contains your matches, the skills detected, your education level and years of experience as estimated by our matching, and the AI-written summary, for up to 90 days. It is linked to a random ID stored in your browser, not to your name or email, and it lets you load your last report later.

A tip. Matching doesn't need your phone number, email address or home address, so you can remove them before you paste. Please don't include government ID numbers, bank details or other sensitive information.

Human check. Before running a match, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm you are a person and not a bot. Cloudflare processes technical information from your browser for this purpose under its own privacy policy.

Posting a job

When you submit a job through our form, we store what you enter: the job details, the apply link and your contact email. The contact email is only used to reach you about the submission and is never shown publicly. Submissions wait in a private review queue. If a listing is approved, its details are published for a limited time. Rejected submissions are deleted.

To limit spam, the form keeps a one-way hashed form of your network address for about a day to count how many listings come from one source. We don't store your raw IP address for this purpose.

Job listings from other sources

Most listings come from third-party job boards and company career pages. When you click through to apply, you leave our site and that site's privacy practices apply. Never share bank details or identity documents before you have verified an employer; see our guide on remote job scams.

Cookies and local storage

• Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage.
• Cloudflare Turnstile may use browser storage as part of the human check.
• Our own browser storage holds a random ID used to find your saved match report, and a note that a saved report exists. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Who we share information with

We use service providers to run the site: Cloudflare for hosting, storage and the human check, Google for analytics, and Groq for the AI step of the resume matcher. They process information only to provide those services. We don't sell your personal information, and we may disclose information if the law requires it.

Some of these providers process data in other countries, including the United States.

Your choices

• Saved report. Clear your browser's site data and the saved report can no longer be loaded from your browser. The stored copy expires automatically after 90 days.
• Analytics. Opt out with Google's browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser.
• Job listings. You can ask us to remove a listing you posted.
• Your rights. Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or California, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your information, or to object to certain processing. Requests can be made through the contact details published on this site.

Children

MericaJobs is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

When our practices change, for example if we add accounts, advertising or new features that handle personal data, we will update this page first. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
